Stephanie Votroubek - Fitness Coordinator for the Spearfish Rec & Aquatics Center
My name is Stephanie Votroubek and I have been with the Rec Center for over 5 years! I really love my job because I get to help people attain a healthier lifestyle. I teach a number of different fitness classes including: Silver Sneakers, Cycle/Strength, and Pound just to name a few! I also teach a diabetes prevention program called the Lifestyle Change Program as well as the Walk With Ease Program through the Arthritis Foundation. I grew up on a farm/ranch 25 miles NE of Spearfish; we raise sheep, cattle, and crops! I enjoy helping my dad on the farm and my husband with his landscaping business! Family, friends, and the people I get to work with are very important to me. I enjoy hiking, biking, and spending time with friends and family!

I have always loved health and fitness, passed down from my dad who was a great model to me growing up. I have seen all the fitness trends come and go. I currently teach Cardio Blast, Strength and Define, Silver Sneakers, POUND and Boot Camps. I love teaching and have taught all age ranges from High School to Preschool to Seniors. To teach and inspire through health and wellness is my passion and I am blessed to be a member of our fitness team at the SRAC. I have four sons, a daughter in law, and a very great husband. Originally from Montana, I am proud to call South Dakota my home.

Health and fitness have always played a huge role in my life, even as a child growing up in Spearfish I was always active, and on some type of sports team. In Middle school and through high school I was active in football, basketball, and track along with my studies. In college I was lucky enough to continue my football career playing for Dakota State University, while studying for my Exercise Science major. Now as a fitness instructor I try to incorporate everything I've learned over the years to influence people of all ages to help better their lives with fitness and health. In my spare time I'm still a very active person, I enjoy weight training, hiking, biking, golfing, camping, and softball just to name a few.

CPR & First Aid Certified, Lifeguard, Performance Enhancement Specialist.

Hello Spearfish! I’m so excited to join the team here at SRAC. I began my training in classical ballet in Fargo, ND under Kathy Gaspar and later, Karin Rudd. Seizing each and every opportunity to move, my dance background also includes training Yoga, Pilates, and even Tai Chi! After graduating in 2010 from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, my ambitions drew me across the ocean to China where I most recently enjoyed the privilege of training students for examination in dance. I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned about conditioning, flexibility, balance, and yes—fierceness!—with me as I embark on this new journey leading the amazing folks here in our community on a life-long journey for wellness.
